As reported here by NBC Channel 6 in Miami, FL, endangered Cuban crocodiles received endoscopy at Zoo Miami after radiographs determined that there were unidentifiable items in their stomachs. The most common type of diagnostic tool to identify foreign bodies in animals are survey radiographs. However, endoscopes have become the optimal tool for identification and removal of the foreign object as they are reliably successful. Endoscopes are not only used for foreign body id and removal but also to diagnose cases of ulcers, tumors, reflux, infections and more.
National veterinary carries flexible and rigid endoscopes that you can view here. We carry multiple manufacturers' scopes to offer you a variety of imaging applications and procedures. Usually endoscopes are disinfected and reused but we have recently added disposable scopes to our product offering. Contact us today for more information!
